Easy Homemade Elderberry Syrup Recipe in the Instant Pot
A delicious homemade elderberry syrup that boosts your immune system during cold and flu season!

- 3 cups Filtered Water
- 3/4 cup Dried Elderberries
- 1/2 tsp Ground Clove or 1 Tbsp Whole Cloves
- 5 Cardamom Pods Break open pods
- 2 Sticks Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Dried Ginger or 1 inch fresh peeled Ginger
- 1 tsp Orange Peel
- 2 Star Anise Pods
- 1 cup Raw Honey
Using the back of a knife, gently smash cardamom pods to open up the outer shell (you do not need to empty out the seeds).
Add 2 cups of water, elderberries, and all herbs to the InstaPot.
Set the Instant Pot to MANUAL for 10 minutes.
Vent immediately or release naturally for an additional 10 minutes.
Mash berries and then strain the liquid through a fine mesh seive. Using the back of a spoon, push through any additional liquid out of the elderberries.
Add 1 cup of cold water (and ice if needed).
Wait for elderberry liquid to cool below 98 degrees, then add honey and stir.
